Inspired by ”Letter to My 16 Year Old Self”

Dear 16 Year Old Me,
As I write this, I/you/we are pushing 30.
I know, you totally remember when people’s Moms were turning 30. But for a moment, just forget about how old and out-of-touch I/you/we are. I promise not going to tell you what to do. At least not too much. « Read the rest of this entry »
Kids Are Weird (Vintage Hamma)

I absolutely have the ability to laugh at myself.
Especially my 8 year old self.

We’ve been having an uncharacteristic heat wave here in beautiful BC, but it seems to have finally broken.

I love Vancouver. This is my home. My friends are here, my family is here. I grew up here, went to school here, met the Husband here. The Kid was born here. My whole life is HERE.

Family Vacations and the Incredible Unfairness of the Personality Switcheroo
August 5th, 2010 § 1 Comment
Our family is long overdue for a vacation. In fact, our first family vacation since the arrival of Kid is still waiting in the wings. Possibly due in part to the fact that the term “vacation” has two very different meanings to the two people planning it. « Read the rest of this entry »
Haircuts (Or, “Times I Feel Like a Criminal Mastermind”)

I’m not too sure what I did in a past life to have been rewarded with such an easygoing first child. Sadly, this has left me woefully underprepared for whenever the Kid does unabashedly freak out. « Read the rest of this entry »
